OUR CORPORATE HEROES:
Just about six years ago (2001), we began this mutual effort in the platform of Teachers Without Borders. Within this short time, we have made very significant progress, as we initiated a number of programs, implemented some of them and have the challenge of following up others. Despite the several limitations against us - funding, bureaucracies, et al, we are determined to continue this noble calling to serve.
Our accomplishments could not have been possible without the support of several individuals and organizations. The Leadership of TWB-Nigeria feel so inspired by the support we have received so. As we lack words to express our feelings, we sincerely want to thank all those who have believed and supported us.
Cisco:
Cisco has helped Teachers Without Borders – Nigeria in several ways including support to establish community teaching and learning centers, provide training for disabled persons as for capacity and professional development of Nigeria teachers. Our campaign for 144,000 teachers for national rebirth is well underway, thanks to the support from Cisco, and the Head Teachers Training Program on HIV/AIDS could not have been successful without Cisco. The list is actually a long one. Without doubt, Nigerian teachers are eternally grateful to Cisco, and they support us because they believe in teachers as multipliers. For us, Cisco is our leading CORPORATE HERO, as they not only believe in our multiplier ability but in education as a passport to a secure future for all. |
